Kelly Archer Interiors, Inc. was started after Kelly, the founder, went through a tremendous amount of loss. She came to the point in her life where she needed to make a choice: dissolve in sadness or stand up and choose a new way of life. In that moment, she decided she needed to try something that felt scary, would push her to new limits, and prove to herself that she had what it took. In 2014, one year after the passing of her mother, Kelly Archer Interiors was born.

As a Bakersfield native, Kelly loves the close community and the support the city gives its people. Opening the Design Studio first, in the winter of 2018 was easy and effortless but opening the Storefront January of 2020 proved to be harder than expected. Through it all, Bakersfield has lived up to its reputation of being supportive and the company’s success is a testament to KAI’S dedication to its clients, the community, and the beautiful designs they create.

We are intentional and passionate about creating a unique and inviting experience in our storefront. We work hard to source a variety of items that will make your home feel collected, telling your story. You can build a custom piece of furniture with the help of a designer, or even pick out some new pillows to add a pop of color to your home. Whatever your decorative design needs are, we are here to assist in elevating your home. You can find a wide variety of furniture, accessories, lighting options, wall decor, live houseplants, and our famous gourmet coffee. We are also proud to be a hub to some of Bakersfield’s best, locally made goods. You can support our small business while also supporting other creatives in our community. Blue Feather

Shortly after my mother passed away, a friend of mine had a dream about her. She was walking down the aisle at my daughter’s wedding dressed in a blue dress suit with a matching pill box hat. She sat next to me... suddenly stood up and pointed at her chair. There, she left a gift; it was a framed picture of the Blue Bird of happiness. When my friend told me the dream, I immediately searched for the meaning behind it.

“In our original logo the feather was floating at the top, symbolizing my mom watching over me, now in the new logo, the feather is at the bottom representing her being in my foundation.” ~Kelly

Some believe the bluebird is a symbol of joy and hope; others, that good news will be arriving soon. There are those that think bluebirds represent a connection between the living and those who have passed away.
